After a long day of juggling work, children, and pets, or just handling the rigors of everyday life, the bedroom should be a peaceful retreat for optimum rest, relaxation, and good sleep. If your bedroom is overdue for a makeover, consider purchasing new bedroom furniture. New furniture can turn a drab room into a comfortable, luxurious suite in your Richmond County home or apartment.
Whether you shop for new bedroom furniture online or walk around a local mattress store and furniture showroom like Furniture To Go, you need to do some planning beforehand. You want to select furniture that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also meets other criteria.
You need to know the size of the bedroom. Seeing bedroom furniture in a Richmond County showroom may look different than it will look in your actual bedroom layout. You want to be sure that the size of the furniture does not overpower the room by being too big. You also don’t want to buy too small bedroom furniture prices that will not look proportional to a larger room. Taking precise measurements will ensure that the balance of furniture and room space works well. It’s equally important to take note of bedroom doorways, slanted walls, windows, and other tight spaces.
Based on the dimensions of the room, what are all the room configurations that you are considering? The answer to that question will help determine how many pieces of furniture you will fit. You also need to take into consideration how many people are sharing the room? If you are two people, you will want two nightstands, a full dresser, and an armoire type piece of furniture to provide enough drawer space to hold clothing. If you like to read in bed or watch television, consider adding in a comfy upholstered chair or rocking chair to your bedroom space. If you’re always looking for more storage, some bed frames come with built-in storage or the frame is positioned high enough for sliding storage boxes underneath.
The furniture experts at Furniture To Go can help you select the right amount of bedroom furniture pieces to match the size of your bedroom in Richmond County.
There are many different types of bed frames. They can be traditional standard frames that hold a box spring and mattress. Some newly designed bed frames only require a mattress with no box spring. Perhaps you prefer the look of a sleigh bed, platform bed or a bed topped with a dreamy canopy? There are so many options so do your homework ahead of visiting a furniture showroom. You can browse online or look through magazines. That will help you narrow the choice.
If you sleep alone, a twin bed is sufficient unless you prefer a wider surface area. In that case, a full size bed, also known as a double bed, would probably be a better solution. If you are a couple, a queen size bed is ideal. A queen size bed offers ample space to rest comfortably, while still being small enough to fit adequately in a typical size bedroom. If you are lucky enough to have an oversized bedroom, consider purchasing a king or California king size bed.
Here are typical mattress sizes:
If your current mattress is relatively new, you can keep it and use it with the new bedroom furniture as long as you select the same size bed frame. If you’re not sure if your mattress can be reused, consider the age of the mattress. A mattress lasts 7-10 years on average. Replace the mattress if it has yellowed or has discolorations, you see lumps or sagging, it causes you back pain, or it’s just not comfortable for sleeping. Annadale is a middle-class neighborhood on the South Shore of the borough of Staten Island in New York City.
The community received its present name circa 1860, and is named after Anna Seguine, a descendant of French Huguenots who were among the South Shore’s earliest settlers; this settlement is also responsible for the neighborhood immediately to the southwest of Annadale being named Huguenot, and the Seguine family also lends its name to Seguine Avenue, the principal north-south thoroughfare on the east side of Prince’s Bay, the next neighborhood southwest of Huguenot.
In 1929, immigrants from Spain purchased land along the Annadale shoreline, and founded a settlement that became known as the Spanish Camp, or Spanish Colony. First tents, and later bungalows, were built at the site. The site was purchased and buildings demolished at the end of the 20th century so that several large, upscale homes could be constructed.
